Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between HZ acupuncture (H) and needle treatment (N) for dupuytren’s contracture?

HZ acupuncture is a specially developed needle tool, refined and invented by a Chinese doctor, used primarily to loosen scar tissue and soft tissue adhesions caused by injury – restoring the natural mobility and elasticity of tissue.

Since 2008, Dr. Gao, with his many years of experience in orthopedic surgery and in-depth knowledge of the HZ technique, has treated thousands of patients with Dupuytren’s contracture and achieved excellent clinical results.

Compared to needle treatment, HZ technology has some clear advantages:

a. Traditional needle therapy uses standard injection needles, which are often not strong enough to loosen the thicker and calcified tissue seen in many cases of patients

b. In addition, you can’t control the direction very precisely when working with the hypodermic needle.

This is why traditional needling doesn’t work well in many more difficult cases – for example, when the tissue is much thicker or contains calcium deposits. And because needling often requires needle punctures in dozens of points for a finger, it can be difficult to properly numb the entire area. This means that many patients experience pain during treatment.

HZ-teknik uses a specially developed needle tool that solves these problems. The design makes it possible to work both stronger and more precisely. And thanks to Dr. Gao’s years of experience, the treatment usually only requires 2-3 small needle pricks for one finger – it’s easy to numb and therefore patients usually experience no pain at all

2. Should I take a break from blood thinners before coming for HZ acupuncture treatment for dupuytren’s contact clock?

No, you don’t need to as there is a much smaller intervention in the treatment

3. When can you use your finger after HZ acupuncture treatment for dupuytren’s contracture

You can use your finger right after treatment and can drive home by yourself.

4. Are there any risks associated with the treatment of dupuytren’s contracture?

Serious complications are rare.

A nerve in the finger can be injured, causing permanent sensory disturbances or pain.

A flexor tendon can be injured. It requires special treatment and intensive occupational therapy and possibly surgery.
